10,000 VOLUNTEERS READY FOR PAPAL VISIT

Philadelphia >> With the pope’s visit to Philadelphia just around the corner, 10,000 volunteers are in the final stages of preparation to make sure his visit will be one to remember.

Pope Francis will be in the region Sept. 26-27 at the conclusion of the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, which runs from Sept. 22-25.

The monumental task of corralling the large group of volunteers for the event has fallen on the shoulders of Suzanne Kinkel, the director of volunteers, who’s spent nearly a year preparing. She says her crew will be ready to go when the eyes of the world fall on the City of Brotherly Love.
