Just how Jessica Dougherty happened to acquire a tattoo of Pope Francis on her right shoulder has nothing to do with his upcoming Philadelphia visit, but everything to do with the “Supernatural.”

The 24-year-old Prospect Park resident is a fan of the TV show about two monster-hunting brothers, so when she learned about cast member Misha Collins’ “Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen” in August 2014 as a way to raise funds for the charitable organization, Random Acts of Kindness, she was immediately onboard.

“One of the items said, ‘Get a permanent tattoo of Pope Francis because of how great a guy he was.’ I think (Collins) didn’t think anyone would do it. It was hidden in the list and me being who I am, I went for it,” said Dougherty, who has four other small tattoos representing various sentiments.

On Aug. 8, 2014, she clipped Internet art of Pope Francis giving a thumbs up and then marched on over to Old Media Tattoo where, in about 20 minutes, the pontiff’s portrait was permanently placed in black and white on the back of her right shoulder by Michael DelBuono. Coincidentally, he is the husband of Amy DelBuono, her seventh-grade teacher at the old St. Gabriel’s parish school in Norwood.
