Excitement is building for the visit of Pope Francis to Philadelphia.
Our charismatic Holy Father will be with us for two electrifying days as he makes a whirlwind tour throughout the Philadelphia area. St. Patrick Church in Norristown has tickets for the outdoor Mass and train passes in order that many may have a special “encounter” with Pope Francis.
The Holy Father is the Vicar of Christ for the world’s more than 1.2 billion Roman Catholics and, in addition, he has become, due to his charisma and courage, a strong moral voice for the entire world. He will be in Philadelphia addressing his flock and proclaiming the Gospel message at an outdoor Mass Sept. 27, on the Parkway where all of us will be privileged to get a glimpse of a true holy man and receive an invaluable lesson on how to live the Gospel message joyfully and humbly. Those of us on the Parkway and those in the televised viewing audience will be able to see how Pope Francis exudes joy by being a faithful and loving follower of Jesus Christ.
His impact on the world has already preceded him.
