PHILADELPHIA >> Catholic officials from near and far outlined the gravity behind the World Meeting of Families and the papal visit prior to the opening of the four-day conference at the Philadelphia Convention Center.
With more than 17,500 people from 100 countries registered for the World Meeting of Families, this is the largest in this event’s history. The program is expected to address various issues surrounding families including challenges, childrearing, finances, the bond between a man and woman, care for people with disabilities and the elderly, the role of grandparents, the loss of a spouse or child and divorce.
Its theme is “Love is Our Mission: the Family Fully Alive.”
