PHILADELPHIA >> Those at the World Meeting of Families won’t have to go far to enjoy a favorite, family pastime – a night at the cinema.
The World Meeting of Families and the Greater Philadelphia Film Office kicked-off a film festival presented by Beneficial Bank Tuesday afternoon during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, located on 300 S. Broad St.
The event, which will run through Friday, will feature a variety of films from documentaries, to family favorites to Academy-Award winners.
“Films mean so much to so many people,” Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter said during the ceremony. “Philly is a great film town.”
