PHILADELPHIA >> On a cool fall evening in the heart of center city Philadelphia, after a night of celebrating family with moving musical acts, compelling stories shared by families around the world and scripture readings, Pope Francis, joined children and artists on the Festival of Families stage, and signed his name to a mural created to honor his historic visit to the City of Brotherly Love during the Festival of Families on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway Saturday night.
Created by the World Meeting of Families – Philadelphia 2015 and The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, the mural titled “The Sacred Now: Faith and Family in the 21st Century.” Since June, when the creation of the mural just began, more than 2,700 people, representing more than 100 countries have painted the mural bringing it to life.
